Anemia is when you don't have enough red blood cells. It can be brought on by an iron deficiency, a vitamin B12 deficiency, or a folic acid deficiency.

For iron deficiency, eat beef, beef liver, pumpkin seeds, bran, blackstrap molasses, spinach, food high in vitamin C, and drink no more than 2 alcoholic drinks per day.

This is another one of those cases where people who drink 2 drinks a day have a lower risk than those who don't drink; but more than 2 drinks a day has the opposite effect.

For folic acid deficiency – eat chicken, beef liver, chickpeas, pinto beans, lima beans, spinach. More about Folic Acid >>>

For vitamin B12 deficiency – eat clams, oysters, trout, and salmon. As we age we need to supplement B12. More about Vitamin B12 >>>
