All of these foods have nutrients that help minimize asthma attacks. You can read about each one by clicking on it.

Apples, chili peppers, coffee, fish, garlic, ginger, green tea, lemon, onion, whole grains.

Essential nutrients - anti-oxidants, B vitamins, beta-carotene, vitamin C, magnesium, selenium, Omega 3s.

Get plenty of colorful fruits and veggies, nuts, and fish. The fruits and veggies supply Vitamin C and beta carotene. The nuts and fish supply selenium. The fish supplies your fatty acids. Hot (spicy) foods also seem to help reduce attacks and severity because of Capsaicin. Tumeric, mustard, garlic, and onion are all helpful.

Strong coffee is used to reduce symptoms during an attack if medications are not available. Coffee drinkers have fewer attacks to begin with.

Lemon juice with honey is soothing and helps remove toxins.

Do breathing exercises a few times a day.

Exercises such as yoga and tai chi are beneficial. Many asthma attacks are triggered by stress.

My daughter was always prone to respiratory infections, and mild asthma. Once me moved to a diet that included more fruits and vegetables, and I moved her to adult vitamins - a multi, C, E, and calcium with magnesium, D, and Zinc - She stayed healthy. Even now, if she strays away from this healthy routine, she starts getting sick again.

So, it's not cured by the healthy routine, but it is controlled.

A healthy lifestyle is not a sometimes thing. You need to stay with it to stay healthy.
