There are many simple diet and lifestyle changes you can make to help conquer your ADD/ADHD. Try to incorporate as many of these into your life as you can. You will see a tremendous difference -

The one thing that will make the biggest impact is cutting out as many chemicals out of your diet as humanly possible. Especially dyes, corn syrup, and artifical sweeteners.

Most A.D.H.D sufferers eat too many foreign chemicals and have nutrient deficient diets. Try avoiding packaged and processed foods and eating a diet of fresh real foods with no added chemicals that mess up your system.

Eat at constant intervals throughout the day to keep blood sugar levels even.

Make sure to get your essential fatty acids – Omega 3, fish oil, with Vitamin E.

Many people with A.D.D./A.D.H.D. have low levels of Magnesium, Zinc, and/or B-Vitamins. Make sure to get enough of these as well as Vitamin C and Protein.

Decrease grains

Cut out trans-fats

Cut out corn syrup

Cut out food dyes as much as possible

Get plenty of exercise, especially for ADHD

Selenium has also been found to be helpful.

The good news is – many famous people would have been labeled as A.D.D. I've read that Thomas Edison and Einstein fit the bill. People labeled as A.D.D. or A,D.H.D. are energetic and inventful. We get bored easily. It takes some discipline to stay on track when something needs to be done. That's why I use so many systems that break things down into little tasks to keep on track. Once you learn to harness your ideas and energy, you can accomplish great things.
