Did you have a chance to watch the Charlotte Gerson video in the last post? That is a bit extreme for most of us, right?
But getting your family to eat vegetables is not as hard as you might think. Really. I get people to eat vegetables all the time.
Chicken Fajitas have green peppers an onions. I put tomatoes in mine.
Chicken Wraps have lettuce, tomato, salsa, avocado, olives, onions.
Teriyaki Chicken has green peppers, onions, tomatoes, and I throw broccoli in mine.
Shish Kabobs have green peppers, onions, tomatoes, pineapple.
The kids eat this stuff up! I made Shish Kabobs a week ago for my daughter and her friends. I made an extra pan of marinated grilled onions. Yes, just grilled onions. They ate it all! Everything. Every last bit. OK, they saved me a couple bites of onion.
My daughter’s boyfriend says his mom doesn’t put the Shish Kabobs on sticks. She just puts them in a vegetable rack on the grill. Why didn’t I think of that? Great tip!
Actually, I find that many times its the parents who don’t eat vegetables. Are you guilty?
And don’t miss out on the great fruits in season. Cherries are cheap and sweet right now. Soon the local strawberries will be available.
Bananas are always a great summer treat. They travel well by themselves. They make smoothies creamy and sweet. They go great on cereal or ice cream. I figure fruit on my ice cream makes it at least a little healthy 😉
