Commonsense & Flu

You know, if you think about it, healthy eating is not really some complex puzzle. It’s just commonsense.

Commonsense will tell you that eating a bunch of chemicals is not good – and since the time that people have started eating so many chemicals, cancers, diabetes, heart disease, and many others have skyrocketed.

Commonsense will tell you that since 10,000% more foods contain corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup, obesity and type II diabetes have skyrocketed.

Commonsense will tell you that if you put sugar water in your tank instead of fuel, the motor won’t run. Most of today’s foods have no nutritional value. They just make you fat, lazy, and sick.

But then there are some things that are commonsense, but not common knowledge.

When it comes to flu season, everyone runs out to get their flu shot, and stocks up on Vitamin C, Zinc, Echinacea, and chicken soup.

Now, let me ask you a question. Why is it that flu season starts when the days are shorter, and ends when the days get longer?

That’s right! Sunlight! We need more Vitamin D during the time when we can’t get enough sunlight.

Very good. You pass today’s lesson!

Just never take more than 2000 IU a day. Too much is toxic.

  • What a great blog Carole, I love the look and so many great tips.
The post on common sense sounds true to me. We pretty much know when we are eating for health of just for fun and flub. Few folks tho realize how important Vit D is and the recommended levels from the usual suspects are way too low.
Thanks for giving your readers the real number; optimal levels of D also help many lifestyle diseases.

    Hi Gregory,

Thanks so much for stopping by. That’s quite a compliment coming from you! Thank you.

  • Not like the mainstream ideas, I’ve to disagree with you, as there are in order that many other components to consider. Effectively if you’re open for link exchange, maybe we should always keep up a correspondence with one another, so that we are able to build a better weblog together. What do you suppose?
