Can I look that good at 100?
I just had to share this video. What an amazing lady.

When I get that, I’ll be happy…
We all feel like when we get more money, or a better job, or a better car, or the spouse, or, or – that then we’ll finally be happy.
Then, when we get what we think we wanted, we’re still not happy. Oh no. Either the thing we wanted comes with some unexpected consquences, or we some some other bright shiny object that we can now obsess about. We’re always in this state of unhappiness.
But its the people who seem the happiest that attract better things, doesn’t it? Its like we all want some of that happiness drug to rub off on us.
I found this old video on YouTube that I thought you might get a kick out of – and maybe be inspired by -

Star Spangled Motivation

I hope you had a great 4th of July holiday!
We had great weather, great food including the Shish-Kabobs my daughter had a taste for, and Spanish Omlets, and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. You just can’t beat the lighter, fresher fare of summer, can you?
We played in the lake and saw great fireworks at the Naval Base. It was great celebrating with the soldiers and their families. It felt so much more patriotic. And they played classic old patriotic songs that I had long forgotten about -
but then, the week continued…
I’ve been working on a project that hasn’t been going well. Its just very difficult for me. I keep putting it on the backburner when I get frustrated.
I was feeling a little sorry for myself this morning. OK, a lot sorry for myself. And then I opened my email from Whole Life Overhaul.
Yes, I get the emails myself to make sure the system is running OK. Anyway- here’s what it said -
Whole Life Overhaul
—————————
Good Morning!
“And the rockets red glare-
the bombs bursting in air”
Life feels like that sometimes, doesn’t it?
How many times throughout history have people beat
seemingly impossible circumstances and come out victorious?
Of course, many times it was do or die – literally.
Ok, so you might not die if you don’t see your goal through.
Or if your goal is health or weight loss related- maybe you’ll
die sooner. But when you give up and quit, there’s a different
sort of death – deep inside.
Think back to a time when you gave up and quit. How did
that make you feel? Does it still affect you today?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now think back to a time when you really stuck it out and
accomplished something. How did that make you feel?
Exhilarating, isn’t it?
And now for the next line of the song…..
“gave proof through the night,
that our flag was still there.”
Are you ready to Prove It?
A Mighty Purpose
- Image by Loving Earth via Flickr
Lorie over at the Clutter Diet Blog had this on her blog a few days ago –
“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown out on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.” – George Bernard Shaw
Wow. Just reading that makes my blood pump faster and makes me want to stop complaining and be a better person!”
Is that a great quote or what?
So what is my purpose recognized by me to be a mighty one?
To help you be able to enjoy life outside of work by helping you get your house clean, feed your family a healthier diet that will keep you all thin, healthy, full of energy, and stay motivated and inspired to live the best you can with what you have.
What is your purpose – recognized by you to be a mighty one?
Do you have a Wild Dream?
- Image via Wikipedia
Many of us have a wild dream inside us that no one else understands. Whether its becoming an internet millionaire, or a rockstar, or building an underground house, or living off the grid, or becoming a bowling champion – you might be one of us who has a dream that others think is either totally unreachable, or totally weird.
If you have a bizarre dream, take heart. Successful people don’t follow the herd. As a matter of fact, you’ll never be successful following the herd.
Einstein was weird. So was Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Stephen King, Cher, Madonna, Brittany Spears, Michael Jackson, the Wright Brothers, Henry Ford, – I mean the list goes on and on.
The unfortunate things is being weird can be really lonely sometimes. People just don’t understand how you can be off working so hard on your ‘thing’ when everyone else is having fun- (you know, drinking and watching TV.)
Well fellow weirdos – I found this poem in my files tonight and I thought it might keep you inspired -
There is a Winner in Each of Us
author unknown
Winners take chances.
Like everyone else, they fear failing,
but they refuse to let fear control them.
Winners don’t give up.
When life gets rough, they hang in
until the going gets better.
Winners are flexible.
They realize there is more than one way
and are willing to try others.
Winners know they are not perfect.
They respect their weaknesses
while making the most of their strengths.
Winners fall, but they don’t stay down.
They stubbornly refuse to let a fall keep them
from climbing.
Winners don’t blame fate for their failures
nor luck for their successes.
Winners accept responsibility for their lives.
Winners are positive thinkers
who see good in all things.
From the ordinary, they make the extraordinary.
Winners believe in the path they have chosen
even when it is hard,
even when others can’t see where they are going.
Winners are patient.
They know a goal is only as worthy
as the effort that’s required to achieve it.
If you’ve been afraid to take the plunge and start working on your wild dream – What the heck. These days, what more do we have to lose? There’s no security anywhere anymore. You might as well go for it.
I’m not saying quit your day job if you have one. I’m saying find a way to start working on your dream, even if it means giving up some TV time. Life’s too short.
