Thought you had a bad week?

- Image via Wikipedia
OK, you know I’m a single working mom. And most of the time, that’s great. But weeks like this one – it sucks.
The cold snap was a reminder that I need to replace the thermostat, pronto! Of course, the new one is not the same size, so that requires spackle, sanding and paint. Its the first time I’ve changed a thermostat, so I’m praying I don’t blow up the house. Oh, and I forgot to get filters…
I fixed the muffler pipe last week. OK, bandaided. Now the next weakest spot has broken. Sigh.
The front tire is low. I go to get air and the air pump isn’t working right. I blew a whole 50 cents. I went to the next gas station, and their air pump is $1. I only have 80 cents in cash left. Sigh…
The vacuum cleaner is broken. I’ve known it needed to be fixed for a while now, but I’m afraid of what it’s going to cost to fix. It’s a Kirby. So now I have 2 Kirbys not working. Sigh…
Rebel With a Fork, is going to be participating in the SpaTacular Event in a couple of weeks. Its really the first large promotion thats been done for that site, and I have lots to finish up – but the universe sure seems to be conspiring against me.
And I have to work tomorrow. Just finished washing my work clothes. We’re fed and the dishes are done. Dog is walked. I’ve done the best I could today.
I’ll bet your life is probably a cake walk compared to mine lately.
As tempting as it is to sit and feel sorry for ourselves, we can’t. You just buck up and get through it and try not to let anything fall apart too badly.
It’s not fun. But it’s necessary. And that’s why we get through it.
And our lives are better for it.
Yeah, it might be nice to have someone to lean on. But once its through, it’s a great feeling to know that you did it.
Stay strong & make sure you’re taking care of you too.
I’m sure tryin to

The Truth Behind Overnight Success
If you are involved in Internet Marketing at all, you no doubt got to witness an 18 year old becoming a millionaire this week. It was really cool, and well deserved.
He came up with an amazing product called Mobile Monopoly. Everything he did was top notch from the training, to the prelaunch videos.
Overnight success?
Not quite.
That’s what everyone thinks. He launched a product and made millions in one week.
How long do you think it took him to come up with this product, have it designed and created?
How long did he spend writing and shooting the videos?
How much money did he put into this product before he saw a cent in return?
How many friends might have felt snubbed when he refused invitations to work on his product?
It sort of reminds me of Bill Gates and all the years he spent ‘playing’ with computers in his garage. Geek. Nerd. Anti-social?
And let me tell you, support is hard to find. You don’t know how often I hear now successful people say that their families were begging them to quit, to give it up.
Who is this message for?
2 groups.
If you are one who is working on your dream – go for it. Never give up.
If you are one who is witnessing someone working on their dream – don’t discourage them. You might not believe in what they are doing, but they might be financially supporting you in a few years.
Don’t feel snubbed or neglected because they are so consumed. Its not personal.
Only 1% of the population has that much passion and drive. If you are lucky enough to know someone in this group, you might just be amazed.

The Food Money Can’t Buy

- Image via Wikipedia
I love my neighbors. I really do. They feed me often.
The neighbors on one side are a little older. They could retire if they wanted to, but they don’t want to. So I’ll do things for them, and they give me homemade Italian food. I like that deal.
I make sure they can get in their driveway when they get home after a big snowfall – they give me food.
She said she wanted to clean the beach, but couldn’t get to it. I like having things to do when I’m outside – so I did it. They feed me.
And its not stuff you can buy.
Today he brought me lasagna, an Italian sausage sandwich with grilled red peppers, and a big thing of fruit salad. He’s always kidding me because I eat so much fruit.
I’m trying to get him to show me how to make some of it, like his red sauce.
And, I’m just about to get my first ripe beefsteak tomato out of my garden. It’s a good week for food!
There’s 3 points to this story -
Always be willing to lend a helping hand.
Show appreciation when someone does lend a hand.
Good food goes a long way!
Don’t you feel special when you have something that’s exclusive? Something that not everyone can have?
That’s the feeling you can have all of the time when you make your own food. And its a fairly inexpensive way to show people that you appreciate them.
Even your family.
You might not think that they notice, or even care. But let me tell you – they do.
How many times have the guys brought something fabulous their wife made into the office?
I’ll ask my daughter what she wants for dinner. She often just says, “Good food.”
She gets tired of the fast food joints with her friends, or the packaged instant food at other people’s houses. She wants, and appreciates good food.
What about you? Don’t you deserve the best? A little special treatment?
Food that will make you look and feel great?
Steer clear of the fast food lane tonight and make something fabulous. There’s tons of fresh fruits and vegetables that don’t require any cooking at all this time of year. Throw something on the grill and you’ll be feasting in no time
Your family will thank you.
Your body will thank you.
Your waistline will thank you.

Can I look that good at 100?
I just had to share this video. What an amazing lady.

When I get that, I’ll be happy…
We all feel like when we get more money, or a better job, or a better car, or the spouse, or, or – that then we’ll finally be happy.
Then, when we get what we think we wanted, we’re still not happy. Oh no. Either the thing we wanted comes with some unexpected consquences, or we some some other bright shiny object that we can now obsess about. We’re always in this state of unhappiness.
But its the people who seem the happiest that attract better things, doesn’t it? Its like we all want some of that happiness drug to rub off on us.
I found this old video on YouTube that I thought you might get a kick out of – and maybe be inspired by -
Be Happy!
