Man this weather is tiresome.

My neighbor came over and the first words out of her mouth were, “Isn’t this weather depressing?”

Then she says, “how are you?”

I said, “DEPRESSED!”

So what can we do to keep ourselves from losing our minds?

Of course, there’s always cleaning house, but if you’re not a serial clean freak like me – you might be looking for some other options ;)

But this is a good time to go through old stuff and donate or throw out.

You could plan a garage sale, or

  • try a new recipe, or
  • paint a room, or
  • do something crafty, or
  • go to the library and find a good book, or
  • go to a museum, or
  • go bowling, or
  • go through old pictures with your family, or
  • learn how to do something new, like a dance, or some computer skill you could use, or
  • listen to music that gets you moving. I love J Lo’s new one, and the new Black Eyed Peas song.
  • get a new hairstyle, or
  • try a new make-up style, or
  • paint your nails a funky fun color, or
  • do some toning exercises so that if it ever does get warm and sunny – you’ll look great..

Anything that will give you a sense of accompishment will always brighten your spirits. Do something you’ve been putting off and you’ll feel great when you finally get it done!

Make sure you are getting your nutrients will help beat depression too. Make yourself do it – its worth it. You’re worth it!

Fireworks at the celebration of the United Sta...

I hope you had a great 4th of July holiday!

We had great weather, great food including the Shish-Kabobs my daughter had a taste for, and Spanish Omlets, and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.  You just can’t beat the lighter, fresher fare of summer, can you?

We played in the lake and saw great fireworks at the Naval Base. It was great celebrating with the soldiers and their families. It felt so much more patriotic. And they played classic old patriotic songs that I had long forgotten about -

but then, the week continued…

I’ve been working on a project that hasn’t been going well. Its just very difficult for me. I keep putting it on the backburner when I get frustrated.

I was feeling a little sorry for myself this morning. OK, a lot sorry for myself. And then I opened my email from Whole Life Overhaul.

Yes, I get the emails myself to make sure the system is running OK. Anyway- here’s what it said -

Whole Life Overhaul
—————————
Good Morning!

“And the rockets red glare-
the bombs bursting in air”

Life feels like that sometimes, doesn’t it?

How many times throughout history have people beat
seemingly impossible circumstances and come out victorious?

Of course, many times it was do or die – literally.

Ok, so you might not die if you don’t see your goal through.
Or if your goal is health or weight loss related- maybe you’ll
die sooner. But when you give up and quit, there’s a different
sort of death – deep inside.

Think back to a time when you gave up and quit. How did
that make you feel? Does it still affect you today?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now think back to a time when you really stuck it out and
accomplished something. How did that make you feel?
Exhilarating, isn’t it?
And now for the next line of the song…..
“gave proof through the night,
that our flag was still there.”
Are you ready to Prove It?
A Mighty Purpose
  Lorie over at the Clutter Diet Blog had this on her blog a few days ago –
“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown out on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.” – George Bernard Shaw
Wow. Just reading that makes my blood pump faster and makes me want to stop complaining and be a better person!”
Is that a great quote or what?
So what is my purpose recognized by me to be a mighty one?
To help you be able to enjoy life outside of work by helping you get your house clean, feed your family a healthier diet that will keep you all thin, healthy, full of energy, and stay motivated and inspired to live the best you can with what you have.
What is your purpose – recognized by you to be a mighty one?
Get up just one more time
Posted under inspiration
There’s a new Tony Robbins video going around the Net. It’s his 50th birthday! Happy birthday Tony!
Anyway – if you feel like you’ve been beaten up, you’re bloody, your ribs are broken – and they’re still kicking you – (I’ve felt like that a few days recently…) Watch this video and see if you can pull out the strength to get up just one more time -
You don’t know how many times My business has suffered blows that would make most people give up. Lack or money, lack of knowledge, lack of skills, and sometimes just life itself has threatened to dash it all against the rocks.
Each time you come up against a time when you think you can’t take or do any more – just pulling yourself up and making one little step forward – no matter how little it seems – can make all the difference in the world.
It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to lose weight, or get a job, or start a business, or perfect your golf swing. Keep getting up!
The next time you get up might be the knock-out!
Have you been watching my progress on my project? It’s still not perfect, but boy, its come a long way, wouldn’t you say? Those of you who have been with me a long time know how techologically challenged I am. It’s taken a lot of hair pulling and tears to get this far.
How about you? Do you have something you’ve been working on for what seems like forever? Have you kept with it? Have you made progress? How does it make you feel? Can you relate to the video?
