The Jehovah Witness ladies came by the other day. I know, I know. Everyone laughs at me for letting them into my house. But they’re nice ladies. And one is a neighbor.
And I’m always interested in how other people think, and what they believe. I think we’d get a lot farther if we tried to understand people rather than automatically hating someone because they’re different from you, don’t you?
Anyway, I always read the publications they bring me. This time it had to do with Global Warming. In one of the articles, they quoted an article that appeared in National Geographic in October, 2007. It said –
“Global Warming presents the greatest test we humans have yet faced….If we are to meet that challenge successfully, we need to move quickly and decisively – and with a maturity we’ve rarely shown as a society or a species.”
In another article in the same publication, the author states –
“At the very least, making such changes would mean promptly addressing the root causes of earth’s problems – human greed, self-interest, ignorance, inept government, and apathy.”
The author goes on to ask, “Is such a prospect probable, or just wishful thinking?”
I guess if you look at how quickly the become a millionaire working at home gurus are becoming multi-millionaires selling their products like hot cakes – even though only a few actually become millionaires using these courses,
and how slowly people are moving towards any real attempt at energy saving,
and how slowly people are moving towards taking care of their health by changing their diet,
and how willing industry is to take advantage of people’s unwillingness to change rather than leading the way to change – and how willing the government is to support industry rather than protect it’s people,
Monday motivational … OK, it’s Tuesday, but it feels like a Monday!
This was such an important message that I asked Dan for permission to share it with you. He graciously agreed.
If you’re a student of Whole Life Overhaul, much of this will look familiar, but we can always use a little reminder, can’t we?
Besides, it’s always good to hear it from someone else. If you hear it from 2 people, may-be you’ll take it to heart?

Hi Carole,
Just wanted to drop a quick note as we finish up
summer…
We’ve had about 60 days straight with weather
over 100 degrees.
It’s easy to get caught up in complaining about the
heat, until I think about the bitter, chilling, bone-cold
weather I despised growing up in detroit, MI.
It’s all perspective isn’t it?
It’s sometimes easy to forget
And so it is with an act of kindness…
I meet so many people who get so caught up in success
in financial terms, they often forget about success
in their own life - with their families, kids, and
themselves.
I have a few questions today -
When was the last time you treated you to an act of kindness
and spoiled yourself?
To a massage, a manicure, a pedicure,
a walk, a visit to the park.
I remember years ago when a friend of mine and
I would go spend an afternoon just sitting under
a tree reading, relaxing and taking in nature…
when was the last time you treated someone you love
and care about in your family to an act of kindness?
This summer has helped put some really, really important
things in perspective for me - mentally, physically,
socially, spiritually and financially…
I’ve been traveling a bit this summer and I can tell
you this past week being home was an amazing blessing…
I was able to watch my son start walking this week -
Why?
Because I was home, treating me and my family to
my acts of kindness…
I got to watch my daughter dance in front of a camera
with other kids on a weekday afternoon at Chuck E Cheeses…
Now, these things didn’t cost me a small fortune at all…
They took me focusing on ‘Acts of Kindness… for me
and those I love’
I forget where I heard it the first time, however
it’s one of my dreams, goals and missions to
share with you important strategies to get money out
of the way…
To get beyond the place of living in survival…
To show you all the things money can buy…
and
MORE IMPORTANTLY -
all of the incredible and important things money can’t!
Make it a goal this week to share an act of kindness
with someone…
Start with you
Then make it a goal to share it with someone
you care about…
And speaking of an act of kindness, I want to say
thank-you for being a valued member, subscriber
and student…
it’s an honor to spend time getting to know you
and I cherish the responsibility to open your
heart and mind to a new world of infinite possibilities-
personally, professionally and financially!
Thank you for being willing to play full-on
Enjoy every moment,
Enjoy.
Dan

Funny thing about being a mother. You can say something until you’re blue in the face, but you have no credibility until someone else says it too. Ever notice that?
OK, I guess it happens to everyone.
Like yesterday – I had this family from Venezuela shopping in the store. I don’t understand a lot of Spanish, but I understood enough to catch on to what was going on. Only the husband spoke English.
The mother had tried on a dress that was a little too tight. She was asking her son and her husband how it looked. The son said it looked awful. The husband said it was OK. She liked it. She was going to buy it regardless.
The husband asked me what I thought. I said it would look ok if she wore a slimmer with it. He told her I said it looked bad.
The son said I told you it looked bad. You don’t believe me until the Senora says so?
I had to laugh.
We get a lot of international business at this mall. Which totally dumbfounds me – the locals all think the mall pretty much sucks. But anyway…
You know, certain cultures might have certain quirks that drive us crazy – but underneath it all, as human beings – we’re really all pretty much the same.
I don’t think I’ve seen a single culture where teenage and twenty something daughters don’t get frustrated with their mothers. The young girls want their mothers to dress like them – but mothers understand that it doesn’t look right for them to be dressed like their daughters. It’s world-wide.
Another thing I’ve noticed lately is that the US has definitely lost the edge on pretty. The typical American look is overweight, wearing sloppy clothes, talking on a cell phone, or eating.
I’ve been amazed at how many beautiful girls I’ve seen from all over the world - India, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Russia, Poland, Peru…
We sometimes get stuck in the place where we think we’re better than anyone else. I was guilty of that too, until I lost my good paying job and the universe showed me that I was no better, and was maybe a lot worse than many.
As uncomfortable as hard times may be, they always deliver grand lessons and will make us better people if we choose to learn from them.
I have a really hard time working on Sunday. To me, it’s a day for rest – just like the Bible says it should be. I enjoy Sunday. I think it’s my favorite day.
So, if I don’t have to work at the ‘job’, I try not to have a bunch of work to do on Sunday. Oh, I’ll putter and do little things, but typically I don’t schedule any major work.
But suddenly, I have people signing up for Whole Life Overhaul. That was really unexpected. I thought I had more time! Sign of the times I suppose.
So I really had to get it in gear today. I had to have the new system up and running by 11 PM in order for the new people to get their lessons on the right days.
Thankfully it all seems to be working. I didn’t blow anything up this time!
I was talking to one of the first students to go through the course a few years ago. I said that I was reworking the course. She was telling me how much she enjoyed the course. But then I mentioned a portion that I thought needed work, she said, “oh yeah, I didn’t like that part. I thought it was boring.” Why didn’t she tell me that years ago? Sheesh!
In any event, I’ve reworked and reloaded the first 2 months. I still have quite a bit of work ahead of me – but that’s OK. I was just going to let the course die out – but it seems it’s still very much needed, especially with things going the way they are. So, since this course is going to be around for a while, I finally bought it it’s own domain, and it’s own software.
I needed classical music today. I just couldn’t concentrate with a bunch of noise. Only problem is, my dog sings to the beginning of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, which happens to be one of my favorite pieces. He also sings to John Mayer’s ‘When You’re Dreaming with a Broken Heart’, but that’s not a favorite of mine. The dog loves broccoli too. Yep, he’s a strange one.
So, where was I going with that? Oh yeah –
I also had Styx in the player because another one of my favorite songs is ‘Show Me the Way.”
I thought I’d share it with you this Sunday. Ok, it’s technically Monday, but in my life, it’s still Sunday until I’ve gone to bed. It’s not Monday until I get up, OK? Here’s the video –
I think that’s a wrap. I’m going to go end this Sunday with a nice hot shower and hit the sack.
Hey, with school starting next week in many areas, it’s a good time to start your own Whole Life Overhaul. The next session will start next Monday morning – Hope to see you there.
