Diet & Health
It’s been sort of a lost day for me. I’m just emotionally burned out. Besides all of the other chaos in my life - Yesterday was Mary’s funeral.
Mary and I were not close. I really only saw her at family type events. My daughter and me were sort of included in family events since we don’t really have much family of our own.
I know, I write about my sisters, but they are both half sisters, and it’s a long, long story….
Anyway – I never really saw Mary in a day-to-day real life situation. I knew that she did everything for her husband and kids. Heck, her husband can’t even make himself a sandwich. She waited on them hand and foot. The kids are not little, 17, 18, 20… And they all walked all over her.
But - I never knew that multitudes of kids hung out at her house. You should have seen how many kids were at her funeral. There were more kids than adults. I heard she was always there to help whenever a kid had troubles.
Which makes this senseless death even more upsetting.
I heard over and over again that Mary put other’s needs ahead of her own.
But what she apparently didn’t stop to consider was that they really needed her healthy and alive.
Mary has had numerous health problems over the years. And all of it could have been avoided if only she would have eaten right.
It seems that over the summer she decided that she felt fine and stopped taking her medicines. I’m sure finances also had something to do with her decision, since again, she was always putting everyone else’s needs ahead of her own.
That might have been OK if she had herself on a proper diet and was taking the right supplements. At least that would have improved her odds. But she didn’t.
I know if I start feeling the least bit bad, I get myself back to eating healthier. I don’t understand why more people don’t take this seriously. I just want to scream!
Everyday, more people will be put on meds with dangerous side effects, or be subjected to surgeries (which carry their own risks), or die needlessly, when all they had to do was change their diet.
I think it’s all very sad. How about you?

Recalls & Warnings
Yep, here we go again - except this time it isn’t razor blades or some other psycho things… yet.
Here is the email I received from MomsRising.org -
Dear MomsRising.org Member,
We want to give you a heads up about some Halloween candy that could be bad for kids: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers not to consume White Rabbit Creamy Candy or Koala’s March Crème filled Cookies because they may contain melamine. (1) And, the Canadian government is warning the public not to consume Sherwood Brands Pirate’s Gold Milk Chocolate Coins, which may also have reached the U.S. (2)
What’s wrong with these candies? You’ve likely heard about the dangerous chemical, melamine, which was recently found in the Chinese milk supply and sickened thousands of children in China. We’ve now seen reports that melamine tainted milk has been used in some Chinese candy products that have been shipped to the United States. (3)
The good news is that Chinese candy makes up only 0.7% of the candy sold in the U.S. (4) and the risk of serious harm from minor exposure to melamine is considered low by the World Health Organization (5). That said, we wanted to send this out to you because we don’t want our kids eating candy with any toxic ingredients.
*Please forward this email to friends, family, and your school email list so all can be on the lookout for this tainted candy on Halloween. (And, if you’re not already a member of MomsRising, please sign on now so we can keep you informed: http://www.momsrising.org/fighttoxins)
MomsRising has created a page where you can easily share this information with friends, as well as see pictures of the tainted candies, get more information, and download a flyer that you can post on your school or other community bulletin boards.

Enjoy a safe and happy Halloween,

My personal take on this is – don’t buy cheap candy! Which reminds me, I’d better get out and get some. Don’t want my house shaving creamed or something!
I really only get one or 2 kids. You can’t see my house from the road and it’s pretty dark down here. But the year you’re not prepared is the year you’ll be surprised, right?
Remind your kids, even your teenagers, that the candy needs to be checked before they eat it!
Make sure your Halloween is full of treats, not tricks!

Diet & Health
You may have seen a comment posted by my sister saying she was the one who had fallen off the wagon. But it may have been confusing because the article she is referring to was not on this blog. So just to clear up the confusion – here is the (updated) article that she was referring to.
No subject in the world has more bull attached to it than “diet”
From the awful tasting fake junk passing as food - that’s killing people
To the commercial deceptions claiming that these garbage foods are healthy
To doctors who know next to nothing about nutrition or natural healing because all they’re trained in is drugs and surgery.
To government agencies who treat healthy diet advice and supplements as quackery
To unscrupulous companies who are willing to sell you diet after diet that won’t work –
But That’s Not The Worst Bull
Oh, No. The worst bull comes from the people themselves. The people who know they could be thinner and healthier, but choose to stay trapped in the system. Let me give you a good example – my sister.
My sister has always pretty much refused to eat right. And she’s always been overweight and sick.
OK, I admit it. I am the weirdo in the family. I’ve never really been sick except for pretty extreme sinus problems as a child, and a couple bouts of pneumonia. I’ve never been in the hospital except for childbirth. I take no meds. I’m 52 years old. And I sailed through menopause without a problem.
I’m also the only one in the family that eats the way I do. Could there be a connection here?
Anyway, back to my sister. She has been struggling with all sorts of joint problems and pretty chronic sinus problems. She actually had started following my plan – but fell back into her old eating habits.
In a recent conversation, she told me about all of the trips she has made to various doctors lately. I asked if she had been eating her fruits and vegetables. “Well, no, I get lazy.”
I asked if she’s been at least taking her vitamins. “No, I have to get more disciplined about that.”
I said, “You mean to tell me that you would rather spend all this time and money and frustration running around to all these doctors rather than spending a few minutes a day to eat right and take your vitamins?”
She says, “I know, I know…”
Or, there’s another girl. She exclaimed, “Carole, you’ll be really proud of me! I ate a salad yesterday!”
I said, “that’s great. What about today?”
“Well…”
Or my friend’s sister-in-law who just had a stroke. She’s had multiple heart attacks already. She’s only 45 or so. Has diabetes, high blood pressure, and is big.
My friend commented that Mary had said that she was controlling her diabetes. Beckie said, “If she was controlling it, she’d be losing weight. I’m controlling it, and I’m losing weight.”
I had to laugh. Beckie told me the same lies for years. Welcome back from the Dark Side Beckie!
WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH PEOPLE?
I don’t get it. I really don’t.
Now, if you would really like to lose weight and take back your health – I can show you how. BUT, I cannot come to your house and force feed you.
If you would rather spend your time making trips to the doctor, and your money on drugs and tests instead of eating fresh great tasting healthy meals – then nothing will work for you. That’s the simple truth. As long as you insist on eating packaged and fast foods and not getting any nutrition – you will be overweight and sick. I guarantee it.
So will your kids.
I’d rather spend my money living life instead of on costly drugs. I need to have tons of energy to live my very full and busy life, I sure don’t have time to be sick. And I sure don’t want my daughter to suffer with medical problems if I can help it.
Listen, It isn’t hard to eat healthy. You can whip up fresh, great tasting, healthy meals in no time.
It doesn’t cost more to eat healthy.
You don’t have to suffer through a bunch of weird foods or do your shopping at the health food store.
That’s all just commercial brainwashing to convince you that you can never do it on your own. But if you’re still reading this page, I’m convinced that you actually have a brain and if given the right information – you can get back to a thin healthy body in a short amount of time.
But you have to be willing to actually make the change. No one can do that for you. We look forward to welcoming you back from the Dark Side!

Diet & Health
Nutrition is something that’s just not taken very seriously these days. For some odd reason, people believe that they can fill their body with tons of foreign chemicals and ignore the proper fuels – and somehow expect that it will keep running.
I’m going to try to explain the importance of taking care of your body in a way that most people can understand. I’m going to compare it to your car.
Your car is a complex union of a number of mechanical parts that all must work together in a synchronized way for your car to run smoothly without sputtering, choking, or breaking down. All it takes is for one wire to be loose, or one fluid to be low, and the whole system breaks down.
You have the alternator, the battery, the fuel injection, the transmission, and many other parts that all must work together. Each part has it’s own maintenance and fuel requirements.
Now - Picture that your body is a precision, high performance piece of machinery.
When your body is running perfectly –
Your blood pressure is stabilized at its perfect level
You weight is automatically controlled
All of your nutrient levels are met and maintained
Blood flows, heart pumps, lungs deliver oxygen, kidneys and liver remove toxins, digestive systems delivers stores of nutrients and removes waste, joints move smoothly – all systems work in perfect concert.
The fuels that your body needs come mostly from a balanced diet of fresh foods. You don’t necessarily need to know what specific nutrients you need for your eyes, or heart, or brain – you just need to focus on providing enough good fuel.
The majority of the nutrients that your body needs come from fresh fruits and vegetables.
That’s problem #1. Most people do not eat nearly enough fresh fruits and vegetables.
So now your body is already hobbling along because it’s not getting the proper fuels.
Now add the chemical compounds that are passing as food these days. Now the works really start to get messed up –
Your arteries start to clog up
Your weight control mechanism fouls out
Your sugar regulators short out
Your memory and brain functions start to slow
Inflamed joints start to grind
Your cellular structure becomes weakened and starts to mutate.
Think about how rust spreads on a car. There’s one spot where the protection is damaged – and that’s all it takes. Except in your body, it’s not rust – it’s cancer.
You’re probably thinking about getting your car ready for winter. But have you thought about body maintenance?
If you have a healthy body, you can always get another car.
Think about that.
