FDA Claims not enough time

Posted under Diet & Health, Government - FDA

The FDA is always crying that they don’t have enough time or manpower to do the inspections that we require and expect to keep our food supplies safe. Look at the latest tomato fiasco.

Oh, but they have time to pander to Big Pharma and debate on whether naturally occuring vitamins and nutrients are really drugs because some company came up with a sythetic version that they sell as a drug.

It happened last year with red yeast rice. Now B6 is the target. Can you believe it?

B6 is a potent, very important nutrient. A deficiency can cause many problems. So, correcting the deficiency would of course cure the disease that the deficiency caused in the first place. This is true of many diseases that are caused, or exacerbated by the lack of nutrients. Anyone with half an ounce of nutrional understanding knows this.

Is that what makes it a drug?

No. What makes it a drug is when Big Pharma creates a fake version that they sell as a drug to treat the disease that the deficiency caused in the first place, and then they petition the FDA to regulate the original nutrient because ‘look, it’s a drug that you approved!’

This, the FDA has plenty of time for.

Would they please appoint someone with half an ounce of common sense to head up the agency that is responsible for the health of the nation (not the profits of Big Pharma).  I think that was their purpose, wasn’t it?

Anyway - to find out more here is a good article, with links to the petition.

http://www.NaturalNews.com/023514.html

We have to stay on top of this stuff. If they think they can quietly push things like this through, they will. They did it last year, and they’ll do it again.

Who should we vote for for president? How about someone who will completely overhaul this ridiculous agency? How about someone who will put the health and well being of the people who elected him above all else? Yeah, right. That candidate already lost.

Every good mother knows you can’t take care of everyone else unless you take care of yourself first.

That’s what we need - A Good Mother for President!

Or maybe Mike Litman. He says, “Save yourself first, and THEN save the world.” I think that’s a sound principle. How about you?

OK, enough rambling. Go read the article, and sign the petition if you are so moved.

See ya later…

US Dead Last in Timely Healthcare

Posted under Government - FDA

The news today should come as no surprise to those who are paying attention to health issues. As our costs for healthcare continue to skyrocket out of control,

As our population gets fatter and sicker,

As our diet continues to poison people,

As people are offered a pill for every problem,

The US offers the worst in healthcare -

You see - this is a commercial nation. If there is money to be made -
they will, even if it means keeping you fat and sick to do so.

And the governmental oversight? Their eyes are turned toward protecting the economics, not your health.

What would happen to the economy if everyone suddenly started eating real food?

How many industries depend on you staying uninformed, fat and sick?

Big (fake) food manufacturers
Doctors
Weight loss companies
Pharmaceuticals
Hospitals
Insurance companies
Nursing homes
Medical equipment
Home nursing
Plus size clothing

So, what’s our next move?

Require that everyone buy health insurance?
Require that taxpayers pay for everyone to have health insurance?
Offer incentives for people to get healthy?

Why not do your part and just get healthy?

.. You’ll save money - lots of it!
.. You’ll feel better.
.. You’ll have the energy to be able to participate in life.
.. You’ll raise healthier kids.
.. You’ll live longer.
.. You’ll have a quality life longer.
.. You’ll have more confidence.
.. You won’t be embarrassed to ask for help from a sales clerk when you’re shopping for clothes.
.. You won’t be directed to the ‘big people’s’ clothing store.
.. You won’t be short of breath.
.. Your blood pressure will come down.
.. Your joints won’t hurt.
.. Your sense of taste will come back.
.. You won’t have to worry about counting calories.
.. You won’t have to spend a monthly mortgage payment on drugs.
.. You’ll think more clearly.
.. You won’t be depressed as often.
.. You won’t get sick as often.
.. You’ll find that there’s a lot of really delicious food out there that you’ve been missing out on just because it doesn’t come in a box.
.. You’ll find that you can eat a whole lot more food and still lose weight, when you’re eating real food.
.. You’ll cut your risk of heart disease, cancer, and type II diabetes.

Can you think for more reasons?

It’s up to YOU to take control of your health and well-being.
If you wait for the powers that be … Start Now!

Healthy Diet Regulations

Posted under Government - FDA

I found this article interesting. I love the concept of price controls on basic needs - and the fact that a healthy diet is considered a basic need in the Phillipines.

It would be great if we could adopt something like this in the U.S.
Yeah, right…

Could we get out from under all the drugs?

Posted under Government - FDA

Or will Ron Paul end up dead?

I found this article in a weekly ezine - Rumbles from The Jungle -
I thought you might find it interesting too…

——————————————–

The FDA Has Blood on its Hands … again.

Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) says, “enough is enough,”
to the Big Pharma Bullies running the FDA. He has introduced
bill H.R. 2117 (the Health Freedom Protection Act) into the
House of Representatives, which would effectively stop the
FDA from censoring truthful claims about the health benefits
of dietary supplements.

He wants to put an end to the federal bureaucrats’ meddling
with your right to choose healthy alternatives over harmful
and deadly patent drugs, and believes Americans should not
be prevented form learning about simple ways to improve
their health.

This bill puts the burden of proof on the FDA/FTC when it
comes to proving that a label or advertisement is false and
misleading. As it stands now, the manufacturer has to satisfy
an unobtainable standard of proof—as was the case with the
American cherry growers a few years ago. The FDA went on a
witch-hunt after the growers used evidence from studies
funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, to state that
cherries have anti-inflammatory properties.

The FDA ruled that the cherry growers could not use that
evidence to make these claims. Instead, the FDA approved
another dangerous anti-inflammatory drug that went on to
take the lives of some 20,000 Americans … Clearly, the FDA
does not object to the spilling of blood in the course of
maintaining the pharmaceutical status quo.

Big Pharma has the FDA firmly in pocket, and censoring vital
information—like the fact that eating 20 cherries has the same
effect as popping aspirin or a Cox-2 inhibiting drug—is their
only way to stay in business! Perhaps bill H.R. 2117 can get
enough traction to stick if enough of us stand firmly behind it,
pushing at the rear.

Dr. Mercola’s Comment:

The multi-national drug cartel has cleverly manipulated and
controlled the FDA to maximally benefit their bottom line
while virtually ignoring the safety of the American public.

Over 80 percent of the FDA’s resources are geared toward
the approval of new drugs, and only 20 percent for all the
rest. Only 5 percent goes to drug safety.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, any company that sells
supplements, including yours truly, is handcuffed from telling
you the truth about supplements because it would make a
claim that the FDA did not approve.

Ostensibly this is to “protect” the public, but the reality is that
it protects the bottom line of the drug companies and prevents
the public from having access to information that could save
their lives.

Gary Null has done an excellent job on researching just how
extensive this deception is. His book, Death By Medicine,
shows how over 2,000 people die every day in the United
States from this fatally flawed model.

Fortunately, there is ONE politician who is seeking to put an
end to the nonsense.

U.S. presidential candidate, congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas)
says, “enough is enough,” to the Big Pharma Bullies running
the FDA. He wants to put an end to the federal bureaucrats’
meddling with your right to choose healthy alternatives over
harmful and deadly patent drugs, and believes Americans
should not be prevented from learning about simple ways to
improve their health.

At the same time the FDA went on a witch-hunt against cherry
growers for citing evidence that cherries have anti-
inflammatory properties, the FDA approved dangerous anti-
inflammatory drugs that went on to take the lives of some
20,000 Americans … Clearly, the FDA does not object to the
spilling of blood in the course of maintaining the
pharmaceutical status quo.

Big Pharma has the FDA firmly in pocket, and censoring vital
information — like the fact that eating 20 cherries has the same
effect as popping aspirin or a Cox-2 inhibiting drug — is their
only way to stay in business! Perhaps bill H.R. 2117 can get
enough traction to stick if enough of us stand firmly behind it,
pushing at the rear.

I see visions of the Tucker - don’t you? You gotta shake your head in bewilderment.

I can talk about it. I don’t sell any drugs or supplements.

Prescriptions for Everything

Posted under Government - FDA

Hi There!

In another move towards requiring an expensive trip to the doctor, followed by an expensive prescription for every little thing - the federal health advisors panel has recommended that over the counter cold medicines for children under 6 be pulled.

One problem is that parents accidentally overdose their kids, giving them one product for fever, another for cough, and so on. Many products contain the same ingredients. And I do think that’s a valid issue.

But another statement floored me. They said that they don’t work anyway.

What?

I guess they’ve never had sick kids.

Some products don’t work as well as others, but that’s true of anything. To make a blanket statement like that is ridiculous.

So what can you do as a parent? For now, the medicines for kids age 2-6 are still available (I believe they have pulled all infant formulas) and will be subject to FDA procedures, which can take quite a while - but they really seem to be stepping up the move to make things unavailable to us.

The best you can do is to make sure your kids are eating healthy so they have a strong immune system. Encourage hand washing. Make sure they get enough exercise and sleep. Keep your home clean and take special care to clean where germs gather, like the phones, the sinks, door-knobs, etc.

For a compelte guide on healthy foods you and your family already loves to eat, pick up a copy of High Energy Eating.

To your good health -
