Spring Cleaning Hazard - The Dangerous Brown Recluse Spider

A friend of a friend was bitten by a brown recluse spider over the last
week. Fortunately, he knew exactly what had happened and got
medical help immediately - in less than an hour.

Please be careful. The brown recluse spider is the most
dangerous spider in the U.S.A.

Send this around to people you love, because it is almost summertime.
People will be digging around, doing yard work, spring cleaning,
and going into areas that may have a surprise visitor awaiting.

Brown Recluse Spiders like the darkness and tend to live in storage
sheds or attics or under rocks, or in other areas that might not be
frequented by people or light. The guy who got bit last week was
doing some work under a canopy that covered his boat.

The most common incident that I hear is people getting bitten when
they put on an article of clothing that has not been worn in a while.
If you live in an area that has brown recluse spiders, be sure to
shake out clothes that have not been worn in a while before putting
them on.

If you have a need to be in your attic, go up there and turn on a light
and leave it on for about 30 minutes before you go in to do your work.

If you're gardening - gently move rocks and separate weeds with
a stick and leave it alone for a few minutes before sticking your hand
in there.

If you suspect that you've been bitten by a brown recluse spider,
call your doctor immediately. The sooner the medication is started,
the better chance you have of escaping a truly horrible chain of
events, months of recovery, and possibly even death.

If you don't believe that this is serious stuff - scroll through the
