Did you flip your Christmas switch? Tree up, lights on the house, cards and shopping done?
Another crazy busy week at work. I ate dinner at midnight most nights this week. If you work in any industry that has anything to do with gifts or food, chances are you are working some crazy hours too.
Last weekend was a blur. I had to get up earlier Saturday morning to get to work on time because of the snow. Then I rushed home to fix myself up and head out to a Christmas party. We ate, bowled, and went to Toby Keith’s bar where not one bit of country music was played. It was just another overcrowded club. Nothing special. We didn’t stay long.
A bunch of us planned to stay overnight rather than try to drive home tired, and potentially drunk. I had one drink all night. They made fun of me because I drank coffee all night.
Sunday morning we stopped for breakfast on the way home. My daughter was heading up, and we were getting together with my niece who was up from Orlando, and my sister. I thought we were going over there. No, they were coming over to my house!
Wrapped the presents, cleared off the dining table, made some coffee – and that’s the best it gets. Thank heaven my house is always pretty clean.
We visited a for a few hours. Then they went off to other places and things to do. I had to get my daughter fed and back home – and then it was time to start all over again.
