So…What’s the #1 Clutter Control Habit?
Put things away when you’re done with them.
No, I’m serious!
Clear the table. Do the dishes. Put them away.
Completely do the laundry – folded and put away.
Used the scissors or a screwdriver? Put it away. To make this easier, I keep stuff like this in a drawer in the kitchen. Scotch tape, lighter, matches and stuff you need fairly often go in this drawer. If you don’t have a spare drawer, you can use a small bin tucked in a cabinet. Maybe under the sink?
Went shopping? Put everything away before you sit down. If you’re anything like me, once you sit down – its all over. You can wait 5 more minutes, right? Then you’ll be able to relax with peace of mind and a sense of accomplishment.
None of these things are difficult or take much time. Actually, it will save you tons of time in the long run.
Its just a habit. A really, really, really good habit!
